It's for friends and family who have witnessed a loved one suffering and want to learn how to hold space for them while they are healing. It's for all men and women who have ever felt sexually violated or know someone who has been hurt in this way. It's for people who want to be a part of the movement to end sexual violence, harassment and misconduct in our community and world wide. It's for you if want to connect to your inner healer and send a prayer to the healing of humanity one heart at a time.***Adult content. Must be 18+ to enter without an adult. Part 1 - Discussion panel with our network of educators and facilitators:Leslie Clayton, Burge Smith-Lyons, Colin and JoAnn Tipping, StarrFire Orbweaver, Debbie Unterman and Special Guest Artist Asha Lightbearer !How does childhood sexual abuse effect the brain and nervous system?
How does that damage show up in your life even if you were not ever abused?
What are the most effective processes to change the brain and heal from sexual abuse? Is FORGIVENESS even possible when the damage has been so severe?Survivors share their personal healing journey with you!
Part 2 - Sacred Healing Process:
Healing from sexual trauma is a very personal process. Depending on the level of betrayal or assault, It can take years to truly find the path to healing and it can also happen in the blink of an eye. The most important part of healing these deep wounds is cultivating the safety in community to be witnessed in your innocence and perfection. A survivor can move past the pain of shame, guilt, sadness, anger and grief when they have a healthy support system in place. The Joyous Heart Network has created a unique sacred ceremony/healing process that will help you move closer to your own personal path to forgiveness while also opening the door to intimacy with yourself and others.

The opposite of Rape Culture is Nurturance Culture. We can only build it with men by our sides, calling out toxic masculinity & helping to dismantle the sociocultural mechanisms that have made men the beneficiaries of privilege over human patriarchal history--white, heterosexual, able-bodied, educated, class privileged US men, in particular. Only when all men begin to do the emotional labor of self examination & see how these cultures of privilege are deeply intertwined with cultures of dominance & that the sum total of seemingly benign gender socialization produces violent masculinities, will we begin to make real progress, because Rape Culture is EVERY man's/parent's problem & EVERY man/parent needs to do all that they can to end it. I
On the 20th anniversary of VDay, we were determined to make this year's performance something truly special. We pulled together some very powerful intersectional material, most is brand new for this year's MANologues -- much of it written by women, touching on everything from gender socialization, to hollywood,to the environment, to porn, to guns, to race, class, power and the urgent need for men to no longer tolerate 'locker room talk' and to RISE! In concert with Latif Wisdom's End Rape Culture Fashion Show (formation-style) and some of the strongest monologues from MMRP, replete with some live underscoring,. If you missed the show, we will post video soon, along with info on our cast. Check back soon!
with love from Atlanta,
